When you do your makeup you always want it to be perfect, even if it’s for a big event or an everyday makeup. For this, you have some rules to follow to make sure everything goes well, here are my 5 most important steps for a great makeup.
EXFOLIATION
It’s important to have good-looking skin to put makeup on, if you have dull skin full of dead cells you are going to see it through your makeup. To help with this situation you should exfoliate your skin at least twice a week, this way your skin’s always going to be on point.
HYDRATION
The more your skin is hydrated the more your makeup’s going to look great. To help with that, you need to have a good routine with your products. You can also treat yourself to a mask just before your make up, for example, you can use the rose gold mask from 111SKIN for a good glow or the black diamond one to make a filter effect.
PRIMER
If you want the color of your makeup to be perfect and your foundation to stay all day on your skin, you should always use a great primer. Many companies have primers to hide pores, some to make your skin dewy and some to make your skin matt. The COOLA primer is perfect for every makeup because Daydream™ Mineral Primer is a weightless, multitasker for radiant-looking skin and makeup all day long. The silky-smooth formula shields your skin with mineral broad-spectrum SPF 30, while an antioxidant instantly enhances overall skin quality. The lightweight texture offers a photo-reflective appearance to visibly blur fine lines, even out skin tone, and minimize the look of pores to create a smooth finish when used alone or for a flawless
makeup application.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT COLOURS
For perfect makeup you need to choose the right colors. You don’t want people seeing a line on your chin because your foundation was too dark. You can really find a good color for you even if you are more olive, more red, more tan or more pale, just try on your skin before buying it. For contouring, use a cooler colour for a natural effect, relief, or a warmer shade for a sun-kissed effect. It’s important that you use a lighter shade than your natural skin for highlighting. Here’s a diagram of Complimentary Colours, for your eyeshadow, if you want to make your eye color pop! Use colours that are across the wheel from each other, like orange shadow on blue eyes or pink shadow on green eyes.
SETTING
You need to set your makeup if you want to have something on your face at the end of the day. First, with a setting powder so your foundation and concealer don’t crease, and at the end with a setting spray. For example, when you have a big event and you go to have your hair done, the hairdresser makes creates your desired style afterwards he/she uses hairspray to keep everything in place, all day/night. It’s the same thing for makeup, using a setting spray when you're done will ensure your look stays fresh, even through a day/night of dancing & drinking! The Coola setting spray is an example of this, because it’s the perfect match between UV protection and makeup setting spray. This weightless, matte-finish and 70% organic mist protects the sensitive skin of your face while keeping your makeup looking fresh all day.
The highly advanced formula includes both cucumber and aloe vera extracts to help soothe and refresh skin, as well as hyaluronic acid to moisture and help soften, tone, and rehydrate skin. This setting mist reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles, while protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays with SPF 30 protection. So, for the outdoor wedding of your best friend with the strong sun beaming down on you, you will be fully protected and fresh looking all day/night long!
