BIOEFFECT HOLIDAY SKINCARE SETS 2021
For this year’s annual Holiday Gift Sets, BIOEFFECT has commissioned embroidery and jewelry artist, James Merry to create a unique piece of artwork that is embodied in the packaging. The design is a botanical-inspired piece and incorporates the iconic green and white BIOEFFECT stripes as well as the EGF (epidermal growth factor) protein structure and barley plant which are the building blocks of the brand’s award-winning formulations.
“This design grew out of my research into the shape & structure of the actual EGF protein used in the Bioeffect skincare products. When I first saw how the protein looked, it reminded me of ribbons or threads unspooling. As a textile artist, these forms obviously appealed to me greatly” said James Merry, the visual artist that created the unique artwork. “I wanted to create a design that would pay homage to the scientific roots of the brand and to represent a fusion between the micro and the macro. So I embroidered the logo in a state of transformation, morphing first into the protein and then growing out into a silver barley plant.”

Each box is wrapped in a beautiful sleeve, decorated with unique artwork designed and handsewn by acclaimed Iceland-based artist James Merry, known for his work for Icelandic superstar Björk. The luxurious and realistic design created exclusively for the BIOEFFECT Holiday Gift Sets has a beautiful texture thanks to matte and gloss finishes along with a tactile embossed effect to emulate the illusion of an embroidered piece of fabric. The image, inspired by the barley plants grown in the BIOEFFECT greenhouse in Iceland offer an organic and green feel while paying homage to the supercharged active ingredients of the products inside the gift set.
Not only are the premium boxes elegant in design they are also planet friendly and FSC (Forest Stewardship Concil) approved with paper that is sourced and produced from forests that are responsibly harvested. While completely recyclable the simple composition also makes the boxes ideal for reuse. Recyclable sleeve with BIOEFFECT signature stripes in glossy-on-matte varnish with an embossed pack shot of products. The F-flute paper insert that holds the products can easily be removed from the box and recycled as well.
